While the Pixel users and the Nexus 6P users are enjoying the latest Android Nougat, the Nexus 6 users are still stuck with the older version but the wait is over for them now as Google release the new Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for their Nexus 6 device.
The Nexus 6 struck gold when Google announce that they will be part of their upgrade plans. Since the device has passed its two-year support, nobody would blame Google for not supporting it but they did.
The Nexus 6 hardware is clearly powerful enough to handle the new OS so it is good that it did not get left out this time although this could be the last OS update that the device will be getting.
The update is now available on full system image as well as OTA update. The updates will be released in stages so don’t worry if you have not gotten your update yet.
