This is not the first time we have heard of vehicles getting hacked and stolen but it looks like what we saw in the footage is not what it seems to be.
If you look at the video, it does look like somebody manage to get into the 2010 Jeep Wrangler using his laptop. That suggest that the Jeep Wrangler can be hacked with a laptop but FCA is saying that that is not the case.
According to Titus Melnyk, Senior manager of security architecture of FCA, the thief did not use the laptop to get into the Jeep Wrangler but used the laptop to code a blank key and used the coded key to get into the Jeep Wrangler and drive off with it.
He added that this is a process often used by dealers to gain access to the car but it looks like it has fallen into the wrong hands.
