2015 Ford Mustang: Independent Suspension Drastically Improves Handling

Come next year, Ford will be rolling out the all-new Mustang and it is promised to be one level higher than all of its predecessors. While the car is still pending to get released, Blue Oval is already going over the top in praising the upcoming Mustang.

It triggered our curiosity on if the Mustang is as good as they claim it to be. Aside from the super horsepower and torque that the Mustang produces, we discovered that there are many other big changes to the car’s hardwares.

The biggest change of them all is the suspensions. The 2015 Ford Mustang will arrive with fully independent front and rear suspension systems. The new suspension design is based on a lower control arm, integral link, upper camber link and a toe link. In addition to that, the geometry, springs, dampers and bushings have all been specifically modified and tuned to deliver improved mechanical grip.

The results, we are about the witness the most aggressive Mustang in history since it now generates twice as much anti-squat and anti-lift force. Furthermore, the Mustang will offer better handling and smoothness in acceleration and braking.

The special thing about the new suspensions is that it is made with non-isolated perimeter subframe which tremendously reduces the width of the springs while offering a reliable and more sturdy pillar to support the suspension.

All in all, we can’t wait to see the 2015 Ford Mustang in action. The car is about to offer something that its predecessor has failed to do and that is handling.
