Samsung produced three final designs of their flagship Galaxy S3 in a bid to stop leaks appearing on the internet, reports T3. Samsung played cloak and dagger with the device to try and avoid photos of the handset stealing their glory before they were able to release it themselves. All of the three final device designs were unique so as to try and keep the device’s identity secret.
How the Samsung Galaxy S3 remained under the radar up to its release
The revelation comes following the release of the handset and from the official Samsung Unpacked blog. On their blog they stated that there were three unique prototypes of the Samsung Galaxy S3 made specifically to try and avoid leaks and all of them were made just like final products. A spokesman who does not want to be named said that they made three different models that constantly changed in the same time frame and this meant their engineers had to go over the same process three different times.
This revelation does seem to shed light on the various leaked images that were floating around the internet before the handset was announced. The team who were responsible for the handset said they were not allowed to share any of the concept drawings of the Galaxy S3 with colleagues. Instead they had to use words to describe the design intricacies which at times were frustrating and tiring said Samsung engineer BeoungSun Lee.
Now this does bring up an interesting question. Leading up to the official Samsung Galaxy S3 launch earlier last month, we saw many leaked photos of beautifully designed Samsung Galaxy S3 models. If these did turn up to be Samsung’s own designs then why did the less attractive of the lot become the Samsung Galaxy S3 we see today? Anyone else wish this bad boy you see below was the Samsung Galaxy S3 we could be holding in our hands right now? Or do you think I’m being a little harsh on S3 design since it isn’t as ugly as some of the other Android phones on the market right now.
