Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Users May Get The Last Laugh

Owners of the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Verizon were left waiting for their update for five months. Now according to GottaBeMobile, when carriers make boo boos they usually do something to make it up to the owner. Take Sprint who left their customers waiting past the release date for the HTC EVO 4G LTE. They gave away a free case when the device was finally shipped. Apple also made amends for their mess with signal strength of the iPhone 4 when they gave away bumper bars. So might Verizon make it up to owners of the Galaxy Nexus with something as well?

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 5.0 Jellybean update

Giving away a free bumper case wouldn’t really make sense given that the smartphone is now old enough that its users have purchased 3rd party cases of their own. GBM believes that what Verizon Wireless may instead do is rollout the Android 5.0 Jellybean update in a timely fashion to make up for their blunder.

Verizon could release it as priority to owners of the Galaxy Nexus when Google announce their Android Jellybean update. This would more than make up for the delay and restore customer’s faith in Verizon. After all many people bought the handset believing that it would be first in line to get not only bug-fixing updates but also the major Android releases.

Of course Verizon did try to make up when the 4.04 update was released five months following the launch of the device, as it fixed most of the issues owners had been having. While this did please a lot of owners, it did not restore any faith and trust on Nexus phones dependent on carriers for updates.
