Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs Galaxy Note 3: Big vs Bigger

In the world of phablets, there has yet to be any competition for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The oversized smartphone is simply too powerful for its size. Then again, how does it compare with the slightly older giant, the Galaxy Mega 6.3?

The first and most noticeable difference is with the size of both devices. The Galaxy Mega is so much bigger as it comes with a 6.3” screen that produces 233ppi. While that may sound decent, it is 40% less sharp than the 5.7” screen on the Galaxy Note 3.

Both devices are equipped with the same 3200mAh battery but it is the Note 3 that is able to last longer. The larger screen on the Mega means that battery drains faster on the device.

In terms of speed, the Note 3 sprints past the Mega as it is powered by the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The latter runs on the mediocre 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU.

Camera-wise, the Note 3 has a 13MP rear and 2.1MP front shooters. Again, this is so much more powerful than the 8MP rear and 1.9MP front cameras on the Mega 6.3.

There is no need to proceed any further. By far, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the more powerful device. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 turns out to be nothing more than an oversized mid-tier device.
