Chevy Silverado vs Ford F-150: Battle Of The Trucks

The Ford F-150 has been dominating the trucks market ever since it got released earlier this year. This isn’t surprising as the 150 is truly sturdy, powerful while also being efficient at the same time. Then again, how will it compare when going against the other powerhouse, the Chevy Silverado?

In terms of looks, both pick-up trucks look almost similar to each other. However, we do appreciate the Silverado’s design more due to its creepy resemblance to Transformer’s Optimus Prime. Both trucks also come with a single row of 3-seats and runs on the RWD system.

Under the hood, the 150 runs on the 302hp 3.7L FFV V6 engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Silverado runs on the 285hp 4.3L FFV V6 engine that is also glued to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Surprisingly, the larger engine capacity on the Silverado is much more efficient than the 150. The former is able to achieve 18mpg in city roads and 24mpg on highways. The 150 recorded 17mpg on city roads and 23mpg on highways.

Technically speaking, the Chevy Silverado is the better pick-up truck of the two. The pick-up truck is retailing at $25,575, which is $1,505 more than the Ford F-150. Then again, it is more fuel savvy on the long run.
