HTC One Android 4.2.2 Update Released But What For Exactly?

Towards the end of 2013, Google launched its Nexus 5 and with it came the Android 4.4 KitKat. All the major phone vendors were quick to acquire the ROM for this latest Android firmware.

HTC, which recorded its first loss in history, came out loud to promise its HTC One users that they will be the first Android smartphone to receive the KitKat. However, things didn’t go quite as planned for the Korean-base vendor. Nevertheless, the KitKat is about to get rolled out to all the HTC One and it will arrive with all the most-wanted features.

For a start, there has been some enhancements to the security and the cloud printing. Also, HTC One users should expect the purple tint on the camera to get a fixing as well. If not, users can change the contrast along with the saturation to reduce the severity of the issue.

Aside from that, the Sense 5.5, Bluetooth profiles, Blinkfeed update, changes to the UI and flash support removal will all be intact in the KitKat.

The telcos in Canada are currently working on the update and it should be ready very soon. As for the US, the update will be rolled out OTA across major networks including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. The international version on the other hand will follow the US release.
