The Honda CR-V has been given a freshen up while the release of the production version of the 2015MY for North America has been shown off in the European market under a thin disguise.
If you check out the photos of the two cars you will see that any changes are really trivial and are just on the European versions lower suspension, sportier looking wheels, matte chrome trim accents and the shark fin antenna, along with a compact protection plate on the front bumper of the car.
They have the identical updates, which include new headlights, fog lights, grille, skid plate and bumper. Also new LED combination lamps, new tailgate design and bumper.
Under the hood of the European model Honda chose to replace the 150PS and 350Nm 2.2 litre i-DTECH diesel engine with the 1.6 litre i-DTEC unit which offers 160PS and 350Nm along with emitting less than 130g/km of CO2 with the 6PS manual, which offers an improvement of 11%.
The 160PS 1.6L diesel comes with 9 speed automatic and has less than 135g/km of CO2 emissions which is an improvement of 30% over the predecessor.
Honda are going to keep offering the two wheel drive car of the CR-V and this will have 120PS 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel and the emissions will come in as low as 117 g/km along with the 2.0 litre petrol engine in 2WD and 4WD with either manual or automatic transmission.
