The moment something gets involve with the world of internet, it automatically becomes a liability to the countless threats and hacks. The latest Tesla Model S might brag about its high-tech system but now, the smiles have turned sour after the car can be hacked and accessed remotely.
The technical vulnerabilities of the Tesla Model S can also be breached to operate the horns, lights and glass roof. These flaws were discovered by researchers from security firm, Qihoo 360 Security Technology Co.
The culprit is with a bug in the system that is discovered by the researchers. One researcher, Jiang Xuxian, revealed that the flaw can be manipulated by using high-tech manoeuvres and can be fixed by deactivating the car’s remote access function.
This isn’t something new for the Tesla Model S. Not too long ago, corporate security consultant, Nitesh Dhanjani, revealed that the car can be remotely unlocked by cracking a six-character password through traditional hacking methods.
Nevertheless, the issue has already been brought over to Tesla Model S and it could be addressed in the near future.
