Tesla promised that they would be upgrading their Autopilot system in December last year but we know that that did not happen the wait is almost over for some of the Tesla owners as Tesla announced the release date of the Autopilot upgrade for some of their models.
According to Elon Musk, the new Autopilot software will be release for the 1000HW2-era models first while the rest of the vehicle will be getting it a week later if no problem arise. That means the 1000 model will act as Tesla lab rats before Tesla releases the software to the other users. The P100D model will also be getting the update but it will only be getting the update on the 5th of January.
For those not using the HW2, the update will arrive a little later although it is believed that it will still arrive before January ends.
