Those who have been fondly waiting for the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact can now get a sneak peek at what the smartphone will look to offer. Earlier this month, Sony launched the Xperia A2 and if history is to repeat itself, the smartphone will be the Z2 Compact.
This may sound confusing but to understand it better, fans have to learn some history with the Xperia Z1. Following the smartphone’s release, Sony launched the Z1 Compact through a different name in Japan. The latter arrived with all the specs that are rumoured to be the Z1 Compact and true enough, it actually is the smartphone.
Looking at the Sony Xperia A2, it arrived with a 4.3” Triluminos display with HD (720×1280 pixel) resolution. The smartphone runs on the 2.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 20.7MP rear camera, 2.2MP front facing-camera, 4G connectivity and even an expandable microSD card support.
Amazingly, all these specs were once tipped to be the Z2 Compact itself. With that being said, fans can start looking forward to the smartphone’s release in a matter of weeks from now. Then again, history could just be a coincidence and it is still best to take this with a pinch of salt.
