Samsung has really been critical on its Galaxy S4 having failed to reach its sales target. How disappointing it may reflect to the company, Samsung is looking to ‘recover’ buy accelerating the release of the Galaxy S5 which can be expected as early as February 2014. The pickup in its production also affected the tech community with a lot of rumours and speculations being spread around. Here is a compilation of them:
Processors: The Galaxy S5 is expected to run on a 64bit processor to compete with that of Apple. It is also safe to presume that the speed will at least match to that of the Note 3.
Storage: There have been a lot of talks that we can see the 384GB internal memory being invented by Samsung making its way into the S5. If that is to be true, then it is most certainly a technological breakthrough. Some suggest that it can be pulled off by stacking 16GB chips by layers into the phone.
Display: The much talked about flexible screen being developed might also be on its way to the device. It will definitely put people in a ‘woaah’ moment when the device is demonstrated. Christian Today on the other hand suggests that the name will change from Galaxy S to Galaxy F.
OS: Realistically, the device will definitely run on Android 4.4 KitKat although some suggest that an alternative Tizen operated S5 will be released alongside it.
Camera: According to GSM Arena, the Galaxy S5 will have a totally different camera. It will either be 13MP or 16MP that comes with OIS technology.
Price: It is still unknown
Design: The Galaxy S5 is tipped to have a metal build instead of typical plastic, according to PatentBolt. Also, the device will be more squarer with smaller bezel around the screen.
Other unknown additions: It is still a mystery despite many claims that the S5 will include the eye-scanning technology to contest with iPhone 5s fingerprint. It will definitely provide more security for the user.
These are all the speculations being jumbled into one device. To be honest, there are plenty more of rumours on the Galaxy S5 out there. Until something concrete is announced, we will be left in the darkness.
