Samsung Galaxy S3 Gets 4.4 KitKat With TouchWiz Finally

Anyone who has the Samsung Galaxy S3 shouldn’t rush out and update just yet as if you root your handset you can install KitKat, despite it not being sent out yet by Samsung. Previously if you updated unofficially then you lost TouchWiz, however this has changed now.

JustArchi and Kryten2k35 from XDA have just launched an experimental version of KitKat with Touchwiz. It is for the Samsung Galaxy S3, however it was based on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

The developers did say that there are some issues right now and one of these is that calls are sometimes ended without you wanting to end them. However things such as camera, text messages and apps, along with 3G and Wi-Fi are all said to be working.

If you want to install this update you should check it out over at XDA Developers. A custom TouchWiz is superb and it can only get better from here on in. There could be a day when we don’t have to rely on the carrier or the phone maker to get an update.
