Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 KitKat Update Instructions

The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is soon going to be able to be updated to Android KitKat 4.4.2. Nordic countries like Denmark and Finland will be the first to be updated with the software and get to enjoy the new features like default sms app function, wireless printing support, new camera shortcut and more.

For people who want to update their handset manually, there are some guidelines to follow before going through with the update.

The first thing you will need to do is install the USB Drivers to allow your handset to connect th the PC.

After you have done that you will need to enable the USB Debugging Mode. Don’t forget to check that your handset has at least 80% battery life and make sure that you make a backup.

Then check that your handset’s model number is P605XXUCNE2. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update only works on the LTE version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition SM-P605.

After you have completed all of that install the P605XXUCNE2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat onto your handset. With use of an extracting tool, extract the downloaded firmware to obtain the .tar.md5 file. Extract the Odin zip to get Odin3 v.3.09.exe. Once the files have been extracted turn your handset off.

Press down the Home, Power and Volume buttons simultaneously to go into Download Mode and then run the Ordinas Administrator on the PC. Whilst in Download Mode connect your handset to the PC and wait till Odin has located your handset.

Once Odin has turned blue, click on the AP button and choose .tar.md5 file with extension.

After that enable Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time in Odin and check that the Re-Partition box is NOT checked and then click on Start.

Once the installation is complete, disconnect you handset from the PC and you should now find that your handset has been updated.
