Peugeot 3008 Chosen As Europe’s Best Over Giulia & E-Class

The Alfa Romeo Giulia and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class might be all that everybody is talking about right now but it was the Peugeot 3008 that got the last laugh when they were given the 2017 European Car of the Year prize at Geneva this year.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia was a very close second. Both Alfa Romeo and Peugeot was leading right from the start by it was the Peugeot 3008 that made it to the top at the end with 319 points over the 298 points that Alfa Romeo got for their Giulia. Mercedes came third with 197 points.

The new Peugeot 3008 will come in with a 1.2-liter PureTech 3 cylinder petrol engine that will be delivering about 129bhp. The vehicle will return about 55.4mpg combined and will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed auto transmission. There is also a 1.6-liter engine that will be offering about 163bhp. Those looking for a more fuel efficient model can opt for the 1.6-liter diesel engine.

Peugeot will also be offering a plug-in hybrid version in the near future.
