Mass Effect 4 Will Reference Previous Trilogy

Bioware has come out stating that the latest addition to the Mass Effect franchise will be referencing the previous trilogy, while building a completely new story.

While there is no clear timeline for when the latest Mass Effect will be taking place in relation to the original trilogy, BioWare’s Edmonton and Montreal boss Aaryn Flynn reported to Game Trailers that they have a “really cool idea” for the direction of the franchise.

With confirmation that commander Shephard and his/her crew will not be present in the latest installment, it will be interesting to see whether our actions in the previous game are more tangible in the universe or if they’ve faded into history.

With that said Bioware has shown us that previous races will be returning to the fold, with what seems like a Human, a Krogan and a Salarian. “It wouldn’t be a Mass Effect game without the krogans – we showed a krogan today.” Flynn stated after the launch of the latest trailer.

With this latest news that the original trilogy will be acknowledged but kept separate from the latest installment of Mass Effect, fan theories are buzzing with where this new game may be set and when. The popular theory at the moment says we’ll be seeing a whole new galaxy in Mass Effect 4.

I guess we’ll just have to trust Flynn when he says, “fans of the series are going to be surprised at just how far we’re going.”
