The battle for this year’s smartphone of the year got more intense as the LG G3 arrived to challenge the Samsung Galaxy S5 dominance. Both devices from South Korea are superb in every way but let’s see which the smartphone is.
The most noticeable difference between the two is the screen size. The G3 is much larger with its 5.5” display that produces 538ppi. This is a whopping 24% sharper than the S5 5.1” screen. Then again, the larger screen can also be a curse at it drains the 3,000mAh battery on the G3 much faster than the S5.
Under the casing, both devices run on the same 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. When it comes to processing memory, the G3 outpace the S5 thanks to its 3GB RAM. The latter only has 2GB RAM.
The S5 still has some fight in it as it has a larger 16MP rear camera and 2.1MP front shooter. However, it is not enough as the G3 is not far behind with its 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front shooter. Both devices are capable of 4K video recording.
While the S5 is equipped with tons of features such as dust resistant and water resistant, it is not enough to be the technically superior device. For the first time ever, LG triumph with its G3.
