LG has confirmed that their flagship device, the G3, will be receiving the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the near future. On the downside of things, the South Korea manufacturer failed to give a specific date on when the update will happen.
For users who can’t wait to get a lick at the Lollipop, there is another way to obtain the OS. XDA developers have announced on their website that they have successfully created a custom ROM, which contains the Android 5.0 Lollipop, specifically for the LG G3 F400S model.
Before you get excited, it is worth noting that the unofficial update is still in its early built. In other words, there are bound to be issues and problems with the Lollipop OS. Also, installing the ROM requires you to root your device. Doing so will void your G3’s warranty.
As such, we highly advise you to wait for the official update to be rolled out by LG. Otherwise, you can start update you G3 by checking out the instruction here. Please be aware that we will not be held accountable for any damages or loss of data caused by the update.
