It is no secret that 5G connectivity is already far into development in South Korea, and it is expected to be ready in 2020. Well, that might just come sooner as EU has reach out to give Korea a helping hand in 5G’s development.
In detail, EU will be developing new technologies, set standards and allocate radio frequencies for the 5G network. The aim is to ensure global interoperability of 5G networks.
It is no surprise that 5G is being developed in South Korea. After all, the Asian nation is the first to offer LTE-A network. Also, it is shocking to learn that Samsung Is a major player in 5G’s development.
With things accelerating from here on, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could just be the perfect test subject for the next-gen network. In other words, the Note 4 will be coming with 5G compatibility.
Since EU has joined the production train, it could just utilize the iPhone to run the 5G test. The upcoming Apple iPhone 6 wouldn’t allow the Note 4 to be the only device with 5G support.
In total, EU will be pumping in $948 million in 5G developments. Like they say, two heads are better than one.
