iPhone 5S Fails to Impress iPhone 5 Users

Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) had recently reported that only a small number of iPhone 5 owners had upgraded their iPhone into the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. It was reported that in a 30 days period since the beginning of the iPhone 5S and iPhonce 5C release, only 6% of the iPhone 5 owners had changed their iPhone into either the iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C. This is only half the number of iPhone 4 owners who upgraded into the iPhone 5 over the same period when the iPhone 5 was released.

This might be due to the fact that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C is just another mini update released by Apple. Many iPhone 5 owners might not see any relevance to upgrade their iPhone but the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S owners would benefit a lot by upgrading to the iPhone 5S. Some of the iPhone 5 owners might also be anticipating the iPhone 6 which was rumored to be released next year and will be packed with tons of improvements which will include the much larger display that had been long awaited by the iPhone fans.

An iPhone 5 user pointed out that the iPhone 5 had only been released about a year ago and said that he had no intention to pay for a new iPhone that only has an improved processor and fingerprint scanner. Another thing that might be the cause to the lack of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C upgrade from the iPhone 5 is the fact that the iPhone 5 owners are still bound to the remaining of their two years contract.

CIRP even revealed that the majority of consumers who activated a new iPhone 5S were using an iPhone before and it was mostly by those who owned iPhones older than the iPhone 5. This means that the high sales figure generated were from existing Apple consumers. There were less customers who bought an iPhone as an upgrade from an older non-smartphones mobile phone.
