Back in September this year, Apple launched the iPad Mini 3 and it has been one of the bestselling tablet ever since. This is despite of the fact that the iPad Mini 3 is simply a small-time upgrade from the iPad Mini 2, while still costing a bomb. For starters, the Huld 2 retails at £129 but now, you can own one from just £65. Thus, the tablet is so much cheaper than the iPad Mini 3, which retails at £319 for the 16GB WiFi-only model.
Of course, you shouldn’t expect the Hudl 2 to be built with premium materials. The housing is made up of plastic but Tesco did a super fine job in ensuring that the tablet does not looks cheap and appear stylish through painting it with matte colours.
Among the many perks of the Hudl 2 is its display. The tablet offers an 8.3” screen that runs on full HD resolution. Pixel density stands at 272ppi for the Hudl 2. Unfortunately, this is not as sharp as the iPad Mini 3’s 326ppi developed from Apple’s Retina technology but the point here is that the difference is not that huge.
In terms of performance, the Hudl 2 is powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor clocked at 1.83GHz, paired with 2GB RAM. The Hudl 2 is capable of handling every task thrown at it exceptionally well. In short, it performs better than the iPad Mini 3’s 64-bit A7 processor and M7 co-processor with 1GB of RAM. Then again, the iPad Mini 3 takes pride in its software-hardware integration which is unrivalled by any other platform.
The best part about the Hudl 2 is that it comes with 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable thanks to the microSD support of up to 32GB. The iPad Mini 3 has fixed internal storage that ranges from 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. However, you will need to fork out a lot more money to get more memory.
With that being said, we can easily confirm that the Hudl 2 is not that far off from being on the same platform with the iPad Mini 3. The biggest factor is the price. The cost of the iPad Mini 3 can be spent on 5 Hudl 2. This is something you will need to consider.
