Hyundai H350: The Santa Fe For The Commercial Market!

The recent IAA in Hannover became the stage for many new concept vehicles and today, we are going to look at the Hyundai H350. The multi-purpose light commercial van is currently in development and will be the first of its kind to come from Hyundai.

The Korean carmaker revealed that the H350 is going to come in three forms- a cargo van, 14/15 seats passenger bus and a flatbed truck. In short, the H350 is aimed to offer higher load volume at a small operational cost.

The H350 isn’t like the Nissan Vanette or the Toyota Hiace. Hyundai actually focused on efficiency, value, loading capacity, safety, reliability and performance when developing the van. This is really important for Hyundai as they hope for the H350 to rule the European market in its segment.

In detail, the H350 is capable to transport 1.4 tonnes of weight in its cargo and also tow trailers of up to 2.5 tonnes. Truly, the H350 will be something really powerful. Furthermore, the H350 will also offer a car-like characteristic and high level of refinement.

The amazing thing is with the H350 cargo area. The vehicle has a wheelbase measurement of 1,380mm but it can still fit in up two 5 Euro pallets without any sign of breaking down.

Under the hood, the H350 runs on the RWD, 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel CRDI. There are two types of tuning which customers can choose from. One offers 150PS (148hp) at 373Nm (275lb-ft) while the other offers 170PS (168hp) at 422Nm (311lb-ft) of torque.

Regardless of which mill is decided by the buyer, the H350 can only be operated on a 6-speed manual transmission. The van also meets Euro 5 emissions regulation but we have yet to get figures on its fuel efficiency. This, together with the release date, will surely be announced on the upcoming Paris Auto Show.
