The moment when Google released the Android 5.0 Lollipop, many phone manufacturers have been busy plotting the OS update for their devices. For HTC, this is like a race among manufacturers. It seems that whoever launches the Lollipop update first is the winner.
Since HTC viewed it in such a way, they are for sure, going to be first to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to their devices. The Taiwanese company has announced that the update will take place this Friday and it will be for the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7. On the other hand, both are Google Play Edition devices.
Regardless, HTC’s ability to act quicker than other phone manufacturers puts HTC users on an advantage. Now, the company is surely working on the Lollypop for its official devices and soon, HTC will be releasing it ahead of its competitors.
It is also worth noting that the Friday update for the HTC One M8 and One M7 on Google Play is actually a delayed date. HTC initially wanted to launch the update on Tuesday but needs to revise on the Lollipop OS before it can be ready for roll out.
