The make sense that the next game to follow after GTA 5 would be the Grand Theft Auto 6 but it looks like that was not what Rockstar had planned from the start.
According to TechRadar, before Rockstar decided on GTA 6, GTA Tokyo was being considered. It is believed that Rockstar even sent a team to Japan and was seriously considering Tokyo as the next city for the game but ended up scrapping the idea.
It is believed that Rockstar later settled for GTA 6 and is now working on the next installment. The TechRadar source said that preliminary works for GTA 6 have already started but it will probably be years before we will see the game.
While we wait for the next game to arrive, Rockstar would probably keep us busy with a few more DLC. Let’s hope that one of them will be the single player DLC that everybody have been begging for.
