One thing that makes the Google Nexus 5 stand out is the price tag; no other handset comes in as cheap as it. Another factor is that it matches the specs of other handsets on the market, including the Moto X, the HTC One, Apple iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
With each successor to the Nexus comes new features and each handset release means that competitors have to match or outdo the Nexus branded handset. It was a Nexus device that first brought NFC to smartphones and they just keep getting better.
When the Nexus 5 came out it arrived with KitKat 4.4, this being the latest OS from Google and it offered something that other devices could not. The OS is very lightweight and so it offers owners a faster and more responsive performance. The handset offers a great camera, processor and it packs in some superb hardware. For the price tag it simply cannot be beaten.
MobileBurn recently put the Nexus 5 up against the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, LG G2, the Moto X and the HTC One. Up against these handsets it did very well and in some aspects it came out on top.
However its popularity will be down to what you like out of a device and you are either going to hate it or love it on sight.
