It is alright to start a game at its appointed starting point. However, it is not cool for the game developer to refrain the players from bypassing that are quickly.
This is the case with Elder Scrolls Online. Zenimax Online Studios had just roll out the beta for the game and many players are frustrated as they are stuck on Starter Island. This island is where players will complete the tutorial for the game before being able to proceed into the game.
In spite of that, not every player needs such a thing. After all the Elder Scrolls series have been pretty much the best RPG games around and players simply know how it works. There is no need to force them into playing tutorial.
The feedback has been brought up to the game developer and now an update has been rolled out to make this change. Of course, there are achievements in Starter Island but they are unimportant and can be looked into in the future.
Other things coming with the update are:
• Collision detection with NPCs just got put in.
• You can also now skip the starter islands and go straight to the first city in your area. You can port back to starter islands if you want.
• Mob difficulty increase slightly starting at level 5.
• Buffs and nerfs to class abilities
• Fixed an issue where many abilities were not properly obeying line of sight rules.
All in all, the Elder Scrolls Online game is expected to be the biggest thing to come to the players. With the game currently in its beta stage, it won’t be long until the full game gets released.
