COD Ghosts: Xbox One Orders Threatened To Be Canceled After 720p Row

The upcoming title COD Ghosts from the popular first person shooter franchise, is causing a lot of disappointment after Infinity Ward’s boss, Mark Rubin, announced that it runs natively at 720p on the Xbox One whereas the PS4 gets it at full HD 1080p.

It appears to be a follow up on recent rumours that he Xbox One will be at a disadvantage in terms of resolution. While COD Ghosts is confirmed to run on 720p, Rubin continues revealing that the team has upscaled the resolution to 1080p using modern software but that will only hide the fact that the game was still rendered at 720p.

On the PS4, it will be on native 1080p and both consoles were revealed to hit 60 FPS. The upscaling process only helps in increasing and stabilizing frame rates. Fans of the game are annoyed by this news with reports stating that the forums are rife with complaints from Xbox One fans about cancelling their COD Ghosts pre-orders after finding out.

A similar incident occurred to the Battlefield 4 game for the Xbox One, again compared to its PS4 counterpart. The game however has already been released in the US for the PC and next gen consoles.

Back to Call of Duty: Ghosts, Activision has confirmed that it will be on shelves for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on November 5. Both PS4 and Xbox One will get their hands on the game later in the same month.
