Battlefield Hardline To Start A COD-Style Release Cycle?

The upcoming Battlefield Hardline will be a new series under the FPS brand from EA. The game is currently being developed by Visceral Games and it will look to make its debut by the end of this year.

As exciting as this may sound, fans of the Battlefield franchise are not entirely thrilled by it. This is due to Battlefield, which is turning into its rival, Call of Duty. The latter is well known for offering an annual release and the former is attempting to compete with it.

There is no blaming COD as Infinity Ward kept a stable cycle of three different developers to produce the games annually. With Visceral Games taking over from DICE, things are shaping up to be something similar.

This is something the Battlefield lovers fear. The latest Battlefield 4 was full of problems which resulted from a rushed development. There is no need to compete with the COD brand. If Hardline is as good as it was claimed to be, gamers will definitely give the game a try.

Of course, all of these are still pending confirmation from the game developer. Then again, EA has this habit of hiding its obvious agendas.
