While Google has just recently released the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, some 900 million Android operated devices users are wondering and also hoping if they might get the update. Well rest assured as below, we will provide the roadmap for the KitKat from major Android smartphones manufacturer.
HTC was quick to reveal that the HTC One will get the appropriate update within the next 90days for the US market. As for the unlocked version, it will be in 30 days’ time. Other models from HTC are currently being reviewed and the company will announce which of them will join HTC One for the update.
Motorola followed on HTC footsteps to announce an update for the Moto X, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini are all queued for the update. On the other hand, the Droid RAZR M, RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD are all being referred to as future plans. However, unlike HTC, no timeframe was given.
LG has just launched its Nexus 5 with Google. Other devices from the company are yet to be revealed to get the update. However it is hinted that the G2 might get it.
Sony has yet to reveal any of its devices for the update. The company will reveal and A-Z list sometime by next week.
Google’s affiliation with Motorola would mean that the upgrade is in store only for th Nexus 4, 7 and 10.
As for Samsung, only the Galaxy S4 Google Play edition is revealed to receive the update. Other devices are still being filtered by the company and will be announced soon.
Other devices which operate on older processors will not receive any update due to compatibility issues. Until there are more words revealed by each company, then we can finalize the phones affected.
