The Subaru WRX STi is in need of an upgrade and luckily, Subaru is working on one right now although the update might not be as interesting as you thought it would be.
It was previously speculated that the refresh Subaru WRX STi could be riding on the new Subaru Global Platform when it arrives this year but it has now been reported that the vehicle will be riding on the same platform this time around.
While the platform might be the same, the Subaru WRX STi will still come in with a long list of upgrades. On the outside, the front fascias in new. They also made some changes to the suspension, Brembo brakes, and wheels. The grille is new while the headlights have been redesign.
Under the hood is the same 2.5 liter flat four engine that will be offering about 305hp and 290lb ft of torque. Some people were hoping for a performance upgrade but that will not be happening now.
On the inside, the Subaru WRX STi will come with an upgraded interior with better materials. They have upgraded the door seal and side-window glass so the cabin should be a lot quieter now.
The price of the Subaru WRX STI is still a mystery.
