What the Subaru WRX STi has to offer right now is not the best but it is not the worst either. The lack of a proper upgrade meant that people are starting to lose interest in the WRX STi but that is not the only reason why the WRX STi sales have been going down.
It is believed that the market is slowly getting tired of performance sedans like the WRX STi and that people are now more interested in hot hatches like the Golf R and Focus RS. Because of that, the fans think that Subaru should combat that with a hot hatch of their own.
While Subaru has never hinted that they are interested in offering a hatchback version of the Subaru WRX STi, the fans think that Subaru should consider it if they want to bring the sales numbers back up.
Although we do agree that hot hatches are doing much better than performance sedans right now, we think that Subaru should just focus on giving the Subaru WRX STi a proper upgrade first before they start exploring the other markets.
