The Subaru WRX STI sedan has always been one of the best-selling performance models but sales have been dropping for the performance model. While some of it might be because of Subaru’s reluctance to give it a proper upgrade, some people also thinks that it is because the market is slowly moving away from performance sedan.
Instead of a performance sedan, people seems to be more interested in hot hatch nowadays and the other automakers are making sure that they have something to offer except for Subaru.
Subaru has never indicated that they are planning to release a hatchback version of their Subaru WRX STi but the fans think that Subaru should start working on one. If Subaru does come out with a new Subaru WRX STi hatch, it will be competing with models like the Honda Civic hatch, Golf R, Focus RS and more.
