While it does not look like Subaru actually did much to the 2017 Subaru WRX STi, they actually did more improvement to the 2017 model that what we believe.
Unlike the previous model, the 2017 model will be build using the high-tensile steel in the frame which means that 2017 model is much stronger now. The upgrade will allow the WRX STi to get 40% higher torsional rigidity as well as 30% increase in bending rigidity.
Subaru also made some changes to the design of the side cooling vents, underbody covers, front under spoiler, side spoiler and more to make sure it is more aerodynamics.
The steering ratio has also been upgraded to 13:1 now which means the steering in tighter now.
The 2017 Subaru WRX STi will be running on the 2.5 liters 4 cylinder engine that will be offering about 305hp and 290lb ft of torque and will return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway.
