Nissan has already confirmed that they will be producing the next-generation Maxima based on the Sports Sedan Concept which was unveiled at various major motoring exhibitions this year.
Today, the world can get a rough idea of what the upcoming Maxima will look like after spy shots of the vehicle’s test mule surfaced on the web. On the downside of things, viewing the images will lead to many disappointments as the Nissan Maxima appears to be toned down from the concept model.
This is evident when looking at the front portion which sees a smaller grille and a less bold appearance. The overall size of the Maxima is smaller to that of the Nissan Altima.
While the spy shots do not reveal anything on the vehicle’s engines, there are an abundance of rumours linking the Maxima with a 3.5L V6 engine mated to a CVT transmission. Furthermore, the car could be offered with a hybrid system consisting of 2.5L 4-cylinder.
Then again, the spy shots are still based on the Maxima in development. Who knows? Nissan might throw a big surprise when the Maxima debuts next year.
