2014 Mazda CX-5 Review: A Perfect SUV

It seems that we are running out of awards for the Mazda CX-5. The SUV is simply perfect as it has the ride balance of power, efficiency, reliability and affordability. If you still have not heard of the CX-5, then you shouldn’t stop reading just yet.

The SUV is the first from Mazda to sport a Kodo styling language which is lightweight and durable. The front exterior of the Mazda CX-5 comes with a trapezoidal unit with the eagle eyed headlights on the side. The LED headlamps stretch out of the hallmark smiley grille at the face of the CX-5.

Under the hood, the CX-5 runs on the SkyActiv D 2.2L diesel engine or a SkyActiv G 2.0L gasoline engine mated to a six speed manual transmission. There is also the option for an automatic transmission. Regardless, the engine produces 155hp and 148lbs-ft of torque while returning 26mpg in the city and 35mpg on the highway.

The CX-5 is as safe as it gets since it comes packed with side, dual front, full-length side-curtain airbags, tire-pressure monitoring system and stability control systems. We strongly recommended getting the SE-L trim as it comes complete with features like powers window, Bluetooth, dual zone climate control and cruise control.

Just by the brief specs above, we can tell that the CX-5 is by far the best SUV in its class. There is simply no SUV that is as efficient while offering the same amount of power as the CX-5.
