2014 Kia Sorento Review: Very Generous With Space

The next-generation Kia Sorento has already been released and today, we are going to look at what the oversized SUV has got to offer.

Upon reaching the nearest Kia showroom here in Boston, we were greeted by the sight of the Sorento and it is truly a gigantic vehicle. We were so amazed by the size of it even when we know that it measures 184″ long, 74″ wide and 68″ tall, while also weighing at 3900lbs.

Without any further delay, our long journey to Washington begins. It didn’t take long for us to get adjust ourself with the vehicle as it offers a comfort level that is simply top class. Everything inside the cabin is built with premium materials which ensure a peaceful journey throughout.

The Sorento performed pretty well overall. Even when on hilly roads, the Sorento never look like tiring as it swifts up and down the slopes while also taking on the corners without any body rolls. This is not surprising as the Sorento is equipped with the 3.3L V6 engine that produces 290hp at 6400rpm and 252lb-ft of torque at 5200rpm.

Taking into consideration of the Sorento’s size and huge V6 engine, we were expecting to spend a lot on petrol. However, the SUV surprised us as it managed 28-30mpg. This is much better than how the Kia rated it on their brochure.

At the end of the day, we managed to reach the capital safe and sound. It is a very simple verdict for the Kia Sorento and it is the fact that it is an almost perfect SUV.

The entry level model can be purchased for just $32,000. However we do recommend taking the Touring Package that cost $4000 more. This will entitle the buyer with a navigation screen, surround sound system, blind spot alerts, power sunshade and many more.

If we have to point out a flaw, it will have to be with the interior’s design. Regardless of how comfortable the Sorento is, the design could have been more artistic than dull.
