With Android manufacturers like HTC and Motorola promising to release fewer devices this year, we may finally see a slow down in the number of Android phones circulating the market and the rate at which other models hit the EOL list. Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus: The first and only smartphone on the list with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, this device will remain on the cutting edge of technology for some time to come. We had the Motorola DROID RAZR and the HTC Rezound as close runner ups but in the end, the Galaxy Nexus was our choice as the best smartphone to stick to for the life of your contract.
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket: Not only does it pack the best features of the original Galaxy S2 but throwing in 4G LTE really took it to the top. Coming in close was the HTC Vivid but we are certain both these smartphones will eventually be overshadowed by the upcoming AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note.
Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch: With a feature list as long as its name, the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S2 with WiMAX 4G beat out the HTC EVO 3D and is currently considered the flagship Android phone on Sprint (or atleast until the Sprint Galaxy Nexus with LTE debuts).
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2: While we picked the Samsung Galaxy S2 as the best T-Mobile Android phone on the market right now, it was close battle between the Samsung model and the HTC Amaze 4G. However in the end the Galaxy S2 took the lead thanks to its better camera software.
Could it be a coincidence that the best Android phones across the top 4 US carriers happened to be Samsung models? Given the success of the Galaxy S2 models here in the US and internationally, and the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is already the most talked about Android phone of 2012, we think Samsung may just have the right formula for giving Android fans what they want.
