Samsung has gone ahead and finally pushed out an update for the Samsung Galaxy S2. While it is not Android 4.1 Jely Bean, this update was long expected to come along.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Android update released (not Jelly Bean)
Users can get the Android 4.0.4 update to the handsets via the PC Suite from Samsung and OTA. The update brings a few changes albeit subtle ones and there are some bug fixes.
The Jelly Bean update of course was announced at the recent annual developer’s conference in June and is said to be a great deal faster than ICS as it has been built to make the most of the power of mobile phone processors and CPUs. At the moment there is no word on the release date for it on the S2 but it has been pushed out to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus already. Whether it will be available on the Samsung Galaxy S2 remains to be seen.
Jelly Bean comes with numerous new features and enhancements including Project Butter, Chrome as the default web browser, Google Now, Widgets, Android Beam and an improved camera app.
