Retailers Defy Apple, iPhone 5 Now Available For Pre-Order

There is still no indication of when the iPhone 5 will be released around the world. However despite this fact pre-orders are being taken for the handset in China, reports Examiner.

iPhone 5 now available for pre-order in some parts of China

Latest reports have said that some retailers in China are cashing in and have started to take early orders for the Apple iPhone 5. This is down to the fact that it is expected to be in huge demand when it is released.

GottaBeMobile for one has said that the Sohu website has listed an ad for early pre-order of the handset and there is a poster showing what appears to be the iPod Touch with the words iPhone 5 above it in large letters. There is in addition a printout of early design images of the iPhone 5 on the poster. The sign can be seen in front of the escalator inside what appears to be a mall or retail store.

Of course the iPhone is one of the must have handsets in China so when the iPhone 5 is officially released it will be very popular. At the moment no major retailers are taking pre-orders for the phone and due to Apple planning a major push in China it may be difficult for some of the smaller retailers, such as this one, to offer grey market iPhones.

There have been rumors that Apple could release the iPhone 5 anytime between August and October of this year. On the other hand the new Apple iPad will be in Chinese stores on 20th July.
