There had been a lot of speculation about a new iPhone last year on the run up to the launch of the iPhone 4S. Some were saying that it would be the iPhone 5 while others thought that it would simply be an updated version of the iPhone 4. Another rumour going around was that it would come with a teardrop shape or tapered design. Of course now we know that it was indeed an updated version which was named the 4S.
iPhone 5: Why it probably won’t look like anything we’ve seen so far from leaks
Everyone accepted the 4S as a fact when there were leaks between June and September of schematics, along with an influx of designs from third party manufacturers designing cases for the phone. One of these was the popular brand CaseMate and this was enough to convince everyone that there would be a major design change. After all if those making cases were spending money on accessory designs to fit a handset that had not been released, it must be a sure thing?
There was the odd more sensible sole that still insisted that the version would just be a faster iPhone 4, after all some people will only believe what they can actually see. The majority were insistent that a new shiny, big, awesome phone was on its way, but how wrong were they?
This year is the same and we have seen numerous leaked parts claiming to belong to the iPhone 5. They show us that the phone is longer and it has a larger screen, with a head jack at the bottom and a 19 pin connector as opposed to a 30 pin. The look is square and flat with a back panel of aluminum so that the phone looks two tone. The aspect of the screen is 16:9 and the display is said to be 4 inches. However before everyone gets excited they may wish to think back to last year at this time when all the speculations lead us to believe that the phone was going to have some exciting changes and they never came.
While the leaks look good they could be nothing but a diversion, after all a lot of prototypes are made by Apple to disguise what the real thing looks like. Take things with a pinch of salt for the moment and wait until October to see what surprises Apple has in store for us.
