If you’re in the market for a huge-screen smartphone then nothing compares to the Samsung Galaxy Note, the 5.3-inch ‘phablet’ with a slim design and high-resolution 720p display.
Proving critics wrong, the Samsung Galaxy Note went on to become a sales success, with reports suggesting over 5 million units sold in the past 6 months. And given that rumors of its AT&T exclusivity here in the US is almost up, we can once again expect the Samsung Galaxy Note to take the spotlight if it lands on Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile (pictures of the upcoming T-Mobile version has leaked on to the web already).
However just like any other smartphone on the market, it isn’t perfect. Here are some of the biggest complaints about the Samsung Galaxy Note. While they may not be so common, the increasing uptake of the Galaxy Note is bringing about more reports of these issues.
Samsung Galaxy Note complaints
Screen: Complaints include incorrect hue, different parts of screen having not similar brightness and block pixels during video playback. Many users have reported the problem being eradicated when they exchanged their Galaxy Note for a new one. As an intermittent solution, you can try and download a different media player from the Google Play Store. As for the brightness issue, you can try turning off auto-brightness and keeping the screen brightness up to around 75 percent (will affect battery life however).
Battery: Another major reported issue is poor battery life. Given that the Samsung Galaxy Note packs a 2,500mAh battery, if you’re getting no more than a few hours of usage before having to charge it again then you may have a defective Samsung Galaxy Note battery.
Camera: Reports of darker, dimly lit photos, being bombarded by pink spots appears to be a growing problem for Samsung Galaxy Note users as well. Given that massive screen and high resolution display, this issue is very apparent during playback.
With the Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Premium Suite update rolling out, here’s hoping Samsung has included some fixes in there for these problems.
