Samsung Galaxy S3 Falls Short In Fabled Specs Battle Against Android Heavyweight Motorola DROID Fighter

When it comes to buying Android smartphones, it is nearly impossible to pick the best. In fact, even rumored devices which have yet to have any solid confirmation as to what they will offer, can find themselves ‘slain’ by other rumored devices well before release. The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3 may just be the next victim.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Motorola DROID Fighter in fabled specs battle

While the Samsung Galaxy S3 continues to shine in the spotlight, there’s another device which is gaining popularity quickly – the Motorola DROID Fighter. We’ve been hearing about it since January and the numerous leaks so far have shown it go by with names like the Motorola DROID RAZR and Motorola Blade. Essentially, it is a deadringer for the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX in terms of looks but has some added upgrades. We’re talking about a different processor, larger HD resolution screen and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded (it eliminates the bottom row capacitive buttons so it may instead rely completely on the ICS on-screen keys while still keeping a somewhat small form factor).

Now adding to those purported specs, the team at Pocket-Lint report that rumors “state its aperture as f2.4 this puts the Droid RAZR HD alongside that of the iPhone 4S, while the handset is also thought to be able to capture 13-megapixel snaps.”

So what we basically have here is a device that’s as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S3 on paper but with some added benefits: higher megapixel camera (13MP vs 12MP), no physical buttons on the front (Samsung Galaxy S3 is rumored to include an elongated physical home button), and of course that juicy 3,300mAh battery found in the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX (the Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to be under 3,000mAh).

If there is one saving grace for the Samsung Galaxy S3, it would be its rumored quad-core Exynos processor which blew other chips away in benchmark tests. However if rumors of Motorola adopting the Snapdragon S4 dual-core chips in its future Android devices hold true then it certainly is no lightweight.

We’ll keep you posted as more developers on these two Android flagship powerhouses.
