What Color Scheme Will Android 5.0 Jelly Bean Go With

While we loved Android 2.2 Froyo, when Google rolled out the darker Android 2.3 Gingerbread UI with green highlights, we immediately forgot about the tired look of Froyo.

Android 5.0 Jelly Bean color scheme: place your bets

Now the same can be said for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which sports an awesome cyan color scheme while still retaining the dark UI. So the next question is, what will Android 5.0 Jelly Bean bring?

Without getting too specific, the major potential colors still remaining are red, yellow, orange and purple. While Google does go with names of popular desserts as codenames for each of its major Android releases, they never seem to line up with the colors (Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich don’t exactly scream green and cyan now do they). So it appears to be purely aesthetic. Based on that, we’re going to vote for red. Now before you think that is too striking just remember the Audi range. The red was made popular by their instrument clusters and other dash buttons, and this was later picked up by Kia as well with their entire lineup sporting red neon and accent lighting.

Anyone else feeling red just like me? Or are you thinking of a different color tone? Sound off in the comments below.
