Earlier this week, we got a taste of what it would be like to run Microsoft Windows on the iPad. In fact, this screenshots of this accomplishment were later photoshopped and mistaken for being a Microsoft Office app for the iPad.
OnLive iPad app brings Flash and other Windows Desktop features to your tablet
Now the company behind putting Windows on the iPad, OnLive, has shown another one of its advantages – the ability to stream Adobe Flash on the iPad.
The good news here is that the feat is accomplished using a new version of OnLiveFirst Desktop, an iPad application that allows users to access Windows desktop and its apps via cloud. What this means is that the Flash operations are carried out by a full-powered computer and just streamed to your iPad, hence eliminating the normal battery draining complaints we’ve heard of.
The OnLive Desktop iPad app is priced at $4.99 a month and will basically give you the features of a Windows desktop without having to worry about speed or having a server of your own.
OnLive is just the latest venture from Steve Perlman, an inventor and entrepreneur responsible for famous products like Apple’s Quicktime video software.
