Gamers have been waiting to hear news about Kingdom Hearts 3 since a trailer for the game was released at the E3 last year by Square Enix. However the latest update on the release of the game isn’t going to be what fans want to hear.
Tetsuya Nomura has worked as director on Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV and he has gamers wondering how he manages to split time between the two. Well it seems that this is not something that he has to worry about as the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date could be looking at some rather lengthy delays.
The producer of Kingdom Hearts Shinji Hashimoto has talked in an interview recently and said that there is no way that they can get around delays with the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 as Nomura was focusing on Final Fantasy XV. There were also hints of a sequel in the Final Fantasy series, but we have no idea if this would come after the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 or before it.
It is now looking very unlikely that Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be heading to the PS4 and Xbox One this year, maybe not even next year. Final Fantasy XV has not been confirmed for release this year either and it is hard to imagine that much headway is being made on Kingdom Hearts 3 while working on Final Fantasy XV. This may mean that gamers could have to wait for several years before the release of KH3.
Hashimoto has asked gamers to show patience so that the team can deliver a superb version of Kingdom Hearts 3. The producer said “A lot of people have wondered for the last couple of years if Square Enix has actually been working on Kingdom Hearts III; that’s why we announced it at E3 this year,” “But please, we need you all to understand that there’s a lot to do.”
So for the time being games are going to have to make do with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, along with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix.
