People have been waiting for the next release in the Half Life franchise, which is Half Life 3. Gamers have wanted to know why it is taking Valve so long to release the game as it has now been over a decade since they launched Half Life 2.
Up to now Valve hasn’t talked about the game and they have not given gamers an idea as to when they can expect it. This has led to fans of the series talking about the reasons behind the long wait.
Gamers have speculated that the wait could be due to the fact that Valve has run out of ideas for the storyline. In Half Life 1 this saw gamers having to escape from City 17. Then in Half Life 2 gamers had to destroy the portal of the combine and then make their escape from the Borealis. So Valve may not know what to do next.
Talk has been going around about Valve working on the Source 2 engine and a new engine does take a lot of time and resources, so this could be the reason we haven’t heard anything about Half Life 3.
The Steam box is another thing that Valve are working on and when it arrives it will be the future gaming system of Valve and a milestone. This is going to need a lot of work and this could well be one of the reasons why Half Life 3 hasn’t come out yet.
When Valve is ready they will reveal information about Half Life 3 and then launch it. For now gamers are going to have to wait, let’s just hope that Valve doesn’t have them waiting for very long.
