SEAT has given all three body variants of the Ibiza hatchback a mid-term facelift. The 3-door, 5-door and Ibiza ST estate now boast a reworked grille, more angular proportions and a new air dam.
2012 SEAT Ibiza gets a facelift, arrives in Europe early spring
While only a slight facelift, the 4th-generation SEAT Ibiza and its trapezoidal grille with a redesigned horizontal honeycomb structure for the bottom air intake bring more emphasis to the car’s overall girth. The front and rear bumpers have also been reworked to introduce two halogen version headlamps with optional bi-xenons and LED daytime running lights.
On the inside, SEAT has upgraded the Ibiza’s material quality and now offer a wider range of paint surfaces and material options including high-end leather upholstery. Other little extras include a new glove compartment that is a whopping 10.7 litres, a far cry from its predecessor.
Electronics-wise, the 2012 SEAT Ibiza boasts a new Portable Media System with a touchscreen display. Under the hood we find new engine choices from the base 1.2 litre 60 PS to a the 1.4 TSI twin charge powerhouse that has 150 PS and a DSG transmission. Other variants now include the 105 PS 1.2 TSI and 75 PS 1.2 TDI E Ecomotive.
The facelifted 2012 SEAT Ibiza is expected to roll into European markets sometime in the spring.
