It looks like we won’t have to wait until the Detroit Show this year to see what Mercedes Benz has been cooking up. Thanks to an anonymous tipster, black and white scans of what appear to be the official brochure for the 2012 Mercedes Benz SL have surfaced.

As can be seen from the picture below, the Mercedes Benz SL is sharing the same grille found on the CLS and its front end is overall almost identical to that of the latest but with larger headlights.
The new styling continue with a sleeker and stretched body as well as the aggressive side vents that overshadow most of its profile. The rear too gets a more elegant treatment with longer tail lamps.
Specs wise, reports suggest that the 2012 Mercedes Benz SL will be 140kg lighter thanks to increased usage of aluminum construction, and its engine options will now include a 3.5-litre V6 and twin-turbo 4.6-litre V8.
