Mercedes-Benz Major Recall Caught Everyone By Surprise

Mercedes has announced a mass recall for all of its E-class and CLS-class models that are manufactured from 2013 to 2015 due to a potential fire risk. The recall was conducted for the vehicles here in the US and it affected about 147,000 cars in total.

The issue is believed to be with a rubber seal inside the engine compartment, which could detach and fall inside the exhaust. With the heat pumped through the vehicles’ pipeline whenever on motion, there is a high chance for the rubber seal to catch fire.

The good news is that there has yet to be any cases of burning Mercedes yet but the carmaker is taking the necessary precaution after many cases of cars being ignited into an inferno popped up last month.

The recall definitely caught everyone by surprise as it is rare to hear one from Mercedes. The German carmaker is well-known for its quality but this particular recall is limited to the US.
